ALSPHERE is developer and provider of economically and ecologically optimized ship hull designs.

The company was set up in February 2001 to design and market a hull concept for fast displacement vessels. The founders of ALSPHERE came from aluminium yacht building industry and started in the early 1990s to develop a new hull form, the so-called Displacement Glider ("DG"), to combine design elements of displacement vessels and planing vessels in an optimal way. The objective was to cover the velocity range between displacement and planing as this range is technically difficult to open up but economically most interesting.

In the first quarter 2002, prototype development could be completed and extensive prototype tests could be carried out in the open sea. The results confirm impressively the technical and economical advantages of the innovational design and prove that it is capable to build ships that can go faster with the same engine power and lower wash.
